Preparing to Paddle
Below should cover most of everything you need to know about planning to paddle with us. If you have any questions not covered, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Welcome to Your Adventure
We’re excited to welcome you to Crane Cove Park. In order to prepare, to the left are all of the details to ensure you have an amazing day on the water. Below are some of the highlights:
Dogpatch is the sunniest part of San Francisco. Don’t forget your sunscreen!
Proper footwear is important. As we enter and exit the water there are potential hazards with sharp rocks. Flip flops, crocs, or water shoes are a must.
Water: there are no local options for water so please make sure you you bring your own.
Wetsuits are not required, or even suggested unless you plan to spend a lot of time in the water or are prone to cold.

Parking can be a challenge on busy days. First and foremost, please plan plenty of time to park before your experience. It may take a while to drive around. Also, please do not park in the Carpenter's Union lot at the end of the block. They will tow you.
Street parking is usually your best bet. There is also a UCSF garage at the corner of Illinois and Mariposa. There is a flat-fee lot at the corner of 19th and Illinois.

Please come to our shop at 560 18th Street before your experience to check in, use the bathroom, store your personal belongings in a locker, and meet your guide.
If nobody is in the shop, come down to the beach. If you cannot find anyone, please text 415-484-9322.

We recommend wearing loose, comfortable beach wear. Board shorts, t-shirts (or sun shirts/ rash guards) that you do not mind getting wet. On colder days, a long sleeve rash guard, hoodie, sweats or yoga pants are fine.
Wetsuits are not required, or even suggested unless you plan to spend a lot of time in the water or are prone to cold.
