Dogpatch Paddle Camps are designed to create lifelong memories. On and off the water, our week-long summer camps engage, entertain, educate, and exhaust your campers!

Camps

Beginner SUP

Ages 7-12 • $749

The best way to learn to paddle board! This camp is perfect for younger paddlers or those totally new to the sport. We will start with the basics and build confidence before going out on explorations and seeking wildlife.

Intermediate SUP

Ages 9-14 • $749

Intermediate camp includes longer paddles and more adventure, with daily excursions to points up and down the central waterfront. For campers with previous experience (ideally have attended our beginners camp).

Kayaking Camp

Ages 9-14 • $749

Mix things up this summer with a kayak session. Our kayak camp rides along with our intermediate SUP. Campers will learn the basics of tandem and solo kayaks, open and closed hulls. No previous experience is required.

Explorers Camp

Ages 7-12 • $999

This is the ultimate adventure week via SUP or Kayak! Each day we visit another amazing paddle spot: Half Moon Bay, Marin, Foster City, Aquatic Park and more. Intermediate paddlers with confident paddle skills.

Safety

Our first priority is your child’s safety. Every camp starts with a briefing on the first day about safety rules, emergency protocols, paddling technique, understanding currents, winds, and tides. If the bay does not cooperate with calm seas, we will substitute activities.

Health

We are still sensitive to virus exposure risks and will enforce all prescribed precautions. Generally, paddling is naturally distanced and outdoors. If campers will be indoors in groups, we encourage masks. Wearing masks on the water is not recommended.

Counselors

All of our camp counselors are CPR and first-aid certified. Additionally, we only hire swim athletes (who are also really fun and great with kids!). The counselor: camper ratio is 1:5 (1:3 for efoil) to ensure ample oversight and smaller group interactions.

Abilities

All campers must have solid swim skills. Pleases assess your child’s previous experience and select the appropriate program. If you’re uncertain, please ask and we can help direct you. All of our programs are physically challenging so campers should be in good shape.

What to Wear

We provide a detailed packing list after registration. Generally think weather-appropriate beach wear. Flip flips or water shoes. Board shorts, rash-guards, t-shirts. Kids who like to swim a lot, or that get cold easily might prefer a shorty wetsuit (for sale in our shop).

Activities

In between paddles, during lunch, and if the water is too turbulent, we will provide land-based activities for the campers. Crane Cove Park has a beach, a wading area and a large grass field where we can play any number of sports and camp games.

Cancellation

All payments are fully refundable up to 60 days. Payments made between 30-60 days are fully refundable as credit for any Dogpatch Paddle services or equipment sales. Cancellations within one month are non-refundable, unless a suitable replacement is found.

Equipment

All paddling-related equipment is provided for each camper. We’ll provide an appropriately sized SUP board, or kayak, paddle, leash, and life vest (PFD). If your child would like to wear a wet suit, they may bring one. We will provide a packing list upon enrollment.

Sample Daily Schedule

Our camps are impacted by weather conditions, so we like to be flexible. We try to spend as much time on the water as possible, though balancing land-based games has also proved to be popular with the kids. In any case, we adapt the programs to suit the vibe of the group.
