Dogpatch Paddle is born of, by and for the community. Our objective is to offer safe and enjoyable stewardship of the San Francisco Bay. We are committed to environmental sustainability, diversity, equity & inclusion in all of our practices.

About Us

Our Origin Story

Dogpatch Paddle began as a community club during the height of the pandemic. When Crane Cove Park opened in Sept of 2020, the club was founded to connect local paddlers for the purpose of sharing information on safety, routes, environment, techniques, connections and gear. Now, over 1200 local members strong, Dogpatch Paddle Club is a voice for our community and a social club with regular, free events.

From these humble beginnings we responded to the call from our members for services like rentals, lessons, youth programs, and storage. In April of 2021 we opened the Dogpatch Paddle Shop to provide these services and added in retail sales. Today, we are the thriving heart of the Crane Cove Community, hosting hundreds of kids into our youth camps, and teaching locals and visitors alike the techniques, safety, and joy of paddle sports.

Looking forward, we have partnered with the YMCA of San Francisco in our successful proposal for Building 49 at 701 Illinois Street, inside Crane Cove Park. We anticipate opening our doors in the fall of 2024.

Our Founder

Adam Zolot, our ‘Chairman of the Boards’ spent twelve years as the founder, CEO, and occasional guide of an adventure travel firm. Latitudes focused on kayaking, scuba diving, mountain biking, and trekking tours in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Pacific. The company was an early pioneer of adventure travel in the region and developed one of the original online experiential travel marketplaces.

After September 11th devastated the travel industry, Adam shifted gears to his second career, in tech. He found his niche with online marketplaces, specifically in hospitality. As the COO of Feastly, he led a team that spread communal dining across the world.

Adam is a passionate paddler, community leader, and a traveler. You can find him most days either launching from Crane Cove or exotics coastlines around the globe. Founding Dogpatch Paddle has brought him back to his adventure roots and he loves to share this passion with the community.
